Type Approval & Production-Line Certification

For products that need more than per-shipment conformity, type approval, product certification and production-line assessment, with ongoing surveillance to keep your manufacturing quality consistent.

Turnaround

Initial assessment, documentation review, product evaluation and factory visit, typically runs over several weeks depending on the scheme and audit scheduling.

Validity

Certificate held over a multi-year cycle, maintained through periodic surveillance assessments rather than re-certifying from scratch.

Accredited body

SASO · GSO · ISO 17065

01

What is this?

Some regulated products need more than a certificate issued per shipment. Depending on the applicable technical regulation, the manufacturer is required to demonstrate that the product keeps conforming over time, through type approval, product certification, or an assessment of the production line itself.

These schemes give regulators, buyers and end users confidence that products continue to meet the technical requirements because the manufacturing process is controlled and product quality stays consistent, not because a single batch happened to pass on arrival.

RACS supports the manufacturer across the full certification lifecycle: an initial product and factory evaluation, then periodic surveillance to maintain the certificate. We tell you exactly what the scheme requires and what is missing before any assessment, and we don't issue if the file and the line aren't right.

02

Who needs it

Manufacturers whose technical regulation requires type approval or production-line assessment, not just shipment conformity.

Brand owners and OEM factories that need a stable, repeatable compliance basis across production runs.

Industrial suppliers and exporters to Saudi Arabia placing the same product on the market continuously.

03

How it works

  1. 01

    Scheme & scope confirmation

We confirm which scheme your product falls under, type approval, product certification, or production-line assessment, and the exact technical requirements it must meet.

  2. 02

    Technical documentation review

Technical files, test reports and production records are assessed against the scheme criteria. We flag every gap before the assessment, not after.

  3. 03

    Initial product evaluation

Representative samples are evaluated, and tested at accredited laboratories where the regulation requires it, to confirm the product type conforms.

  4. 04

    Factory & production-line assessment

An on-site assessment verifies the production line and quality controls are capable of producing conforming units consistently, not just the submitted sample.

  5. 05

    Certificate issuance

On successful evaluation and assessment, the certificate is issued within the approved scope. If the file or the line isn't right, we tell you what to fix, we don't issue.

  6. 06

    Periodic surveillance

Scheduled surveillance assessments verify that manufacturing quality stays consistent over the certificate's validity, so compliance is maintained between renewals.

A bilingual project manager who runs the full lifecycle, from initial evaluation through every surveillance round.

Frequently asked questions

A shipment CoC certifies one batch as it arrives. Type approval and production-line certification certify the product type and the manufacturing process behind it, so conformity is demonstrated continuously, with surveillance, instead of being re-proven shipment by shipment. Which one applies depends on your product's technical regulation, and we confirm that before quoting.
