01

What is this?

G-Mark is a conformity mark issued under a Gulf-wide technical regulation administered by the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO). It signifies that a product meets the essential health, safety, and environmental requirements set out by the GCC.

Its mandatory scope covers low-voltage electrical equipment and appliances and children's toys. Once affixed, the mark is recognised across all GCC member states without separate national approvals for that scope.

02

Who needs it

Manufacturers and importers of low-voltage electrical products (sockets, plugs, lighting, household appliances).

Toy manufacturers and importers targeting any GCC market.

Brands consolidating GCC compliance into a single mark.

03

How it works

  1. 01

    Technical file preparation

Compile circuit diagrams, materials list, risk assessment, and the safety standard the product is declared against.

  2. 02

    Type-testing at accredited lab

Representative samples are tested against the applicable GSO standard at an accredited laboratory.

  3. 03

    Conformity assessment

RACS reviews the test results and technical file, confirming the product satisfies all essential requirements.

  4. 04

    Declaration of Conformity

The manufacturer signs the Declaration of Conformity referencing the assessment outcome.

  5. 05

    Mark affixing

G-Mark and the GCC Conformity Tracking Symbol (GCTS) are affixed on the product and packaging per GSO sizing and placement rules.

Required documents

Manufacturer's technical file with safety standards referenced.

Type-test reports from an accredited laboratory.

Risk assessment.

Authorised representative agreement (for non-GCC manufacturers).

G-Mark affixing

Once a product is approved to carry the G-Mark, the mark and its GCC Conformity Tracking Symbol (GCTS) must be physically affixed per GSO sizing, placement and durability rules. RACS provides an audited affixing service, useful for product imported in bulk and labelled in the region, or where in-house artwork teams lack GSO experience, so placement is correct the first time and the audited record protects you in market surveillance.

  1. 01

    Artwork review

We check your packaging artwork against GSO mark sizing and placement rules.

  2. 02

    Affixing supervision

RACS supervises the physical affixing at the packaging line or warehouse, then issues an audit report usable as market-surveillance evidence.

GCC Toys Certification

Children's toys fall under the same Gulf-wide GSO framework as G-Mark, certified against the GCC Technical Regulation for Toys. Before a toy reaches the Saudi or wider GCC market it must demonstrate conformity with the applicable mechanical, chemical, electrical and flammability requirements. RACS supports manufacturers, importers and brand owners through the full assessment, reviewing the technical file, arranging type-testing against the applicable GSO standards, and issuing certification. We tell you exactly what the file is missing before we test, so you don't pay twice for the same lab run.

  1. 01

    Product classification

We classify the toy by category and intended age group, then identify the applicable GSO standards and the mechanical, chemical, electrical and flammability requirements it must meet.

  2. 02

    Type-testing at accredited lab

Representative samples are tested against the applicable GSO standards, including limits on hazardous chemicals, small-parts and mechanical hazards, and electrical safety for battery-operated and electronic toys.

  3. 03

    Certification & conformity marking

RACS issues the certificate and confirms the conformity marking, warnings and labelling so the toy can be legally placed on Saudi and GCC markets.

  • Electronic & battery-operated toys
  • Educational, functional & activity toys
  • Aquatic & ride-on toys
  • Toy scooters & children's bicycles

Frequently asked questions

Toys are certified under the GCC Technical Regulation for Toys (GSO), part of the same Gulf-wide framework as G-Mark, and must carry the required conformity marking before sale in any GCC or Saudi market. We handle toy certification as part of this service; if your range also covers regulated low-voltage products, we run both tracks together so you don't duplicate testing.
